- WRIMOS UNITE - Survival kit

October 15, 2015

I won't lie to you guys, NaNo is tough. It demands a lot of energy and effort and this is why you need tools to help you. We, Wrimos, call those tools our survival kit. Today, I will be sharing with you the essential of a survival kit. Here they are!

1: A computer
This one is essential. You need it to write, and if you prefer a pen and paper, your computer can still help you with research and keeping track of your word count.

2: A notebook
To write down every idea, every funny dialogue you think of or any death you just planned!

3: A cup filled with...
You need fuel to write, you're like a car in need of gasoline. Whether it is cofee, tea, hot chocolate, orange juice or just water, you'll definitely want something to drink near you.

4: Snakcs (AKA sweets if you ask me)
Yes, NaNoWriMo is my excuse to eat candy pretty much all the time!^^ But more seriously, if you're trying to stay healthy or if you're just not a fan of candy, keeping some veggies, or a granola bar close to you is important; you need food to stay bright!

5: A writing uniform
Yu might not always have the chance to plan when and where you are going to write. Chances are you'll take any moment you can get to work on your novel. But for those times that you do plan somehow in advance, make sure to be comfortable. If it's jeans and a t-shirt or PJs, be my guest! As long as your outfit won't distract you from the task at hand.

6: A muse
You'll have difficulty writing if you're all out of inspiration. Books about writing, novels, pictures, music, whatever it is that gets your creative juice flowing again!

7: Running
Or pretty much any exercise for that matter. To quote someone I love very much; "Increases energy, makes you happy, sleep better... And the list goes on!"

8: A word count calendar
As mentioned in last week's post, sure you could just refer to the NaNoWriMo website, but a pretty calendar is way more fun!

So these are my essentials when it comes to NaNoWriMo. Stay tuned for next week's post, in which you will have a surprise waiting for you!

Did I forget anything? What else is in your survival kit?
